May 13, 2008. Today the situation in Burma is even more horrifying than it was on May 2, just after being ravaged by Cyclone Nargis. In addition to those already dead from the storm, more are dying because of injuries, illness, and a lack of clean water, food and sanitation. Read reports.

Children are safe at the Ark orphanage.
On Monday, May 12, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in Sichuan Province in China. The earthquake shocks reached Beijing (3.8 in magnitude) and Taiwan, 1,000 miles away. Over 18,000 people died; many thousands more are feared dead. A Christian orphanage and several Bible schools were affected. Read report.

Laotian Hymnals Needed for Newly-planted Churches
Christ for Laos workers continue to plant churches and train more workers, while facing ongoing persecution. Pray and rejoice with CFL for 15 newly-planted churches. CFL wants to provide 400 hymnals ($2 each) for the believers.
